“The Usual Suspects”
50 x 15 inches (127 x 38 cm)
gouache on paper
2012
Painting of Malayan Tapirs we made for our current exhibition at Narwhal Gallery in Toronto. One of several threatened tapir species, The malayan species has a wonderful panda-esque coloration as adults and the young have amazing patterned fur. Mostly we picked the tapir though because of their noses! They make so many amusing faces that seem to convey human expressions - they are impossible not to like!
“Albino Kiwi and Rainbow Egg”
handmade ceramic sculptures
2012
This was kozy’s second ever ceramic project. It came out pretty good! Although there was some small bit of cracking in the glaze on the kiwi’s body that made us decide to keep the piece rather than put it in the exhibition opening at Narwhal Gallery this Friday. Everything needs to be just right for us to feel comfortable exhibiting it these days…
